Travel Grant Information
For 2008 HENAAC is only accepting individual air travel applications. We realize students have limited resources and this year we are preparing to again grant $150,000+ in travel sponsorships. As a non-membership organization, HENAAC does not require that travel grant applicants be members of any particular organization. Airfare is an option for students traveling from 400+ miles outside of Houston.

Protege Mentor Program
Last year, HENAAC, in collaboration with Najera Consulting Group, inaugurated the Protégé Mentor Program. After rave reviews from students and professionals alike, the second annual Protégé Mentor Program will be held again at the HENAAC Career Conference and Awards Show in Houston, TX on October 9-13, 2008 for professionals and October 10-13, 2008 for students.

The goal of the HENAAC Protégé Mentor Program is to allow professionals the opportunity to be a Conference Mentor for the three days of the conference. Many professionals have valuable information to share and advice they can give directly to college STEM students and the HENAAC conference is the perfect setting for this interaction to take place!

The goal for students in this program is to have them work directly with a professional during the conference on important skills such as networking, the art of the handshake, how to properly introduce one-self, dressing appropriately for different events, and of course career advice.

University Champions
HENAAC is now accepting applications for the next group of University Champions in TEXAS, OKLAHOMA, and LOUISIANA for the upcoming Career Conference and Awards Show taking place in Houston, TX on October 9-13, 2008. This is an opportunity for you to earn a free registration package, a spot in the College Bowl, a mentor through the Protégé Mentor Program, special recognition at the Student Leadership Luncheon and up to $150.00.

As a University Champion you will work with students in your university and coordinate group travel by ground to Houston. Your main responsibility as a University Champion will be to promote the HENAAC Conference and coordinate your roster of participating students.
